McCann, a National Book Award– winning author, will discuss his most recent novel, Apeirogon. An apeirogon is a shape with an infinite number of sides. In telling the stories of Rami Elhanan and Bassam Aramin, who lost their daughters, Smadar and Abir, to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Apeirogon weaves together fiction and nonfiction, crossing centuries and continents to create a multifaceted and multilayered exploration of history, art, politics, love, loss and hope. “Balancing its dazzling intellectual breadth with moments of searing intimacy, this is a transformative vision of a historic conflict and a triumph of the novelist’s art,” writes Publishers Weekly.
